ABOUT THE FILM
Winning Time is a part of ESPN Films critically acclaimed “30 for 30″, an unprecedented documentary series which features thirty films from some of today’s finest storytellers, detailing the issues, trends, athletes, teams, rivalries, games and events that transformed the sports landscape from 1979 to 2009.

Reggie Miller single-handedly crushed the hearts of Knick fans multiple times. But it was the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals that solidified Miller as Public Enemy #1 in New York City. With moments to go in Game 1, and facing a seemingly insurmountable deficit of 105-99, Miller scored eight points in 8.9 seconds to give his Indiana Pacers an astonishing victory. This career-defining performance, combined with his give-and-take with Knicks fan Spike Lee, made Miller and the Knicks a highlight of the 1995 NBA playoffs. Peabody Award-winning director Dan Klores explores how Miller proudly built his legend as “The Garden’s Greatest Villain”. Through the memories and hearts of the players, coaches, fans, and media of both “cultures”, Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. The New York Knicks examines the relationship between Reggie Miller, a guy with a New York attitude playing in middle America, and the team representing the “Basketball Capitol of the World”. View a trailer

proCircuit does THE CLASSIC

Old_Soul_Classic_Barcelona_DIGITAL

Alright, Indianapolis, its that time of year again!  The winds are beginning to pick up.   The temperature is starting to drop.  Leaves are beginning to cover the ground.  Football season is underway.  This can only mean one thing; well maybe two.  One, it’s FALL.  Most importantly, It’s Circle City Classic time…

This year, proCircuit, has their hand in the mix.  In alignment with our social enrichment initiatives, we have partnered with Old Soul Entertainment, Class of ‘93, UpScale Promotions and a host of others to bring you THE Classic Party.  No need for jazzy titles.  No need for catchy taglines.  This party is a guaranteed good time!  DJ MetroGnome  and DJ Action Jackson will be spinning.  Where else can you dance the night away to good music (read: no top 40) with good people (read: safety is imperative) in a cozy venue AND pay only $10 during Classic weekend?!? Hmm?!? Don’t worry, we’ll wait.

So, we’ll see you Saturday night at BARcelona Tapas (Delaware and Ohio).  Check the flyer for more details.

Sooooo, pC, what’s next?!?

Great question!  And a question that we’ve received quite often over the past couple of weeks.  So, here’s your answer…;)

August has been an EXTREMELY busy month for pC, but we’ve enjoyed every minute of it.   Earlier this month, we presented our personal branding presentation, “Pole Position: Are You Prepared to Win the Race?”, at the National BDPA Conference in Raleigh, NC.   Over the next two consecutive weekends, we hosted The Foreign Exchange concert and the 5th Annual Naptown Nibble.  Along the journey, we made a lot of new acquaintances and met a lot of people.  We look forward to building with ALL of you in the near future.

Moving forward, we will take our “social caps” off for a brief spell and focus on program development.  As we’ve always stated, pC is not a marketing or promotions group.  Social enrichment is just one of our aims.  Over the next two months, we will spend time developing our programming as it pertains to career coaching.  Given the recent start of the academic year, there are a myriad of opportunities to reach students who will soon be seeking full time employmen and could use a bit of guidance.  Additionally, we will begin to target small groups of professionals that may benefit from the material that we have to share.

We anticipate launching the second installment of our “Up Close and Personal” concert series during the Winter;  just in time to shake off the winter’s cabin fever.  If you’ve got somebody that you’d like to see, shout it out!

In the meantime, we will continue to plug you with information relevant to your careers, social interests, and introduce to you some of Indy’s thriving small businesses.   We’d love to hear from you!  Drop us a message on Facebook or via email anytime.

The Foreign Exchange comes to Indy…

pcFE-front

For those who haven’t heard, The Foreign Exchange will be gracing Indianapolis with its presence on Saturday, August 15th.  We are excited to have them!!  As part of proCircuit’s social enrichment efforts, we’re excited to be able to bring something different…something soulful…something fulfilling…to YOU.  The Foreign Exchange brings showmanship and sincere passion for music back to the stage.  You’ll be sure to leave this performance entertained and assured that your recession money was well spent!  :)   Tickets are available @ http://www.theprocircuit.com.  For more background information on The Foreign Exchange, read the excerpt below and then, peep the video after the jump.

__________________________________________________________________________

Four years after the release of their critically acclaimed debut “Connected“, The Foreign Exchange returns with their sophomore set, “Leave It All Behind“.

Consisting of singer/songwriter Phonte and producer Nicolay, The Foreign Exchange came together via the online hip-hop community Okayplayer.com in 2002. After trading files through Instant Messenger for over a year, Nicolay (living in his native Holland at the time) and Phonte (a Raleigh, NC resident) completed their debut album before they ever met each other in person. The album, “Connected,” was released in 2004 to positive reviews, and was praised by legendary DJ’s such as Jazzy Jeff, King Britt, and DJ Spinna for its inventive mix of hip-hop, R&B, and electronica.

“Leave It All Behind” finds The Foreign Exchange much closer in geography (Nicolay has since become a resident of Wilmington, NC), but located much further from their hip-hop origins. The duo’s second full-length is a dark, multilayered affair that features Phonte showcasing his abilities as an exceptional lead and harmony vocalist, while Nicolay extends his musical palette to include sprinklings of jazz, downtempo, and house. The lush, Darien Brockington-assisted “Take Off the Blues” picks up where Connected’s sleeper hit “Come Around” left off, while the complex polyrhythms and dreamy synthesizers of “Sweeter Than You” are described by Phonte as “swing jazz for the next century.” Marc Mac (of legendary UK production team 4hero), also contributes a string arrangement to the duo’s glorious cover of Stevie Wonder’s oft-forgotten 1991 gem, “If She Breaks Your Heart.”

Setting the record straight..

“proCircuit?!?” “Who?!?” “What do they do?”

These are just a few of the responses we’ve gotten when talking to people about who we are and what we do. We’re ok with that to some extent. We understand that every harvest starts with a seed.

However, we’d like to take this opportunity to let you know what we’re about.

To begin (despite our recent efforts), we’re not promoters…or event planners…we’re more like dream builders. Our mission is to boost social capital within urban communities through social enrichment, professional development, and small business consulting services. At proCircuit, we believe that devoting focused time and energy in these three areas will bolster the cornerstones of a fruitful, stable urban community. Our vision…to cultivate a community of leaders equipped with the tools and resources necessary to compete and conquer the challenges of today and tomorrow.

We believe in the power of the collective. We recognize the promise of a people of purpose. We embrace the challenge of joining the two concepts to strengthen ourselves and others.

Join the movement.  Your support is appreciated.
